Nutrition Guidance for Patients on Hormone Therapy

Did you know that what you eat, how much you move, and other health practices can not only affect your fight against prostate cancer….but also lower your risk of heart disease?  Patients taking hormone therapy are especially encouraged to adopt heart-healthy habits.

The good news is that “what’s good for your heart is good for your prostate.” Many of the nutrition recommendations overlap. For example, eating lots of veggies lowers risk of lethal prostate cancer AND risk of cardiovascular disease.

Stacey Kenfield, ScD, and June Chan, ScD of the University of California, San Francisco, are PCF-funded researchers and pioneers in the field of nutrition and prostate cancer. In this interview, they discuss their recent article reviewing practical dietary guidance for patients on hormone therapy.
