Prostate Cancer Foundation Announces New Internet and E-mail Addresses
2009 Press Release
PCF.org is the New Domain
SANTA MONICA, CA/June 5, 2008 -- The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF), the world's leading philanthropic source of support for prostate cancer research, has announced a new World Wide Web address, www.pcf.org.
"With prostate cancer being the world's second most prevalent form of cancer after skin cancer, the PCF's website provides visitors with critical information on the disease. The site also features in-depth information on the advanced research funded by the foundation, its partners in the fight against prostate cancer, and information on its numerous fundraising events and campaigns.
"PCF's new web address is part of our commitment to making web access easier for the numerous visitors to our site including patients and their families, researchers, donors, students and other interested parties," commented Dr. Jonathan Simons, president, chief executive officer and David H. Koch Chair of the foundation. "It is the first step of a strategic long-term plan to make the PCF website the ultimate source for information on prostate cancer and updates on our commitment to eliminating death and suffering from this disease within the next 15 years."
With the new web address, e-mail conventions for the foundation will also change to firstname.lastname@example.org. E-mails using the older convention will continue to be forwarded to recipients at PCF.
The domain name became available following the landmark merger of Peninsula Community Foundation in San Mateo and Community Foundation Silicon Valley in San Jose, which created Silicon Valley Community Foundation.
InternetRealEstate.com, SimpleDomains.com, and their co-founders, Andrew Miller and Mike Zapolin, longtime supporters of PCF, worked with both PCF and Silicon Valley Community Foundation, former owner of the address, to make this transition a reality.
