PCF Makes Prostate Cancer Information More Accessible with Launch of Mobile Website

Patients and Caregivers Can Now Access Information With Ease

SANTA MONICA, CA/August 18, 2011—The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) today announced its launch of a mobile website that enables individuals to easily access information on prostate cancer and stay informed on the latest research news. Any smartphone device can access the Prostate Cancer Foundation mobile website by visiting www.pcf.org.

In addition to prostate cancer statistics and educational resources, mobile viewers can find questions to ask their medical teams as they navigate their diagnoses and treatments, review a glossary of key prostate cancer terms, find healthy living recipes, and connect to PCF social networking sites.
“With the addition of a mobile website, prostate cancer patients, caregivers and supporters have convenient access PCF’s extensive data on disease and treatment information,” says Dan Zenka, senior vice president of communications at PCF who is also a patient. “Just as prostate cancer research is advancing rapidly, so too are our communications tools. It is our obligation to provide patients and their families with ease of access and our mobile site does just that.”

During their first visits to the site, users will be prompted to download a convenient shortcut to the site that will reside on their mobile device’s screen. Following its initial launch, PCF’s mobile site will see continued enhancements as user feedback is submitted. Suggestions are welcomed at info@pcf.org.
