About David P.

I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in Dec. 2010 at age 50. Little did I know how hard this diagnosis would be on my wife Laurie. All attention was on me, I had the support, I had the “battle”. What I didn’t know, that my wife of 26 years had as difficult of a battle as me. She had the same fears, stress, concerns about prostate cancer as I did. The difference was, I had the support of many, Laurie had to deal with everything on her own. While she was caring for me, pushing me to recover, she was under tremendous pressure herself. Raising our five sons and working as a elementary teacher. She did this all with grace and love. And I might add with very little sleep. Your question is how did Laurie make a difference in my care….. The answer is, she was the difference in my recovery. I know that her dedication and unselfishness was instrumental in recovery. For this I am indebted to her forever.
