About Luby

My mom was the amazing caregiver, support, fighter and more for my Dad who was diagnosed with prostate cancer over 10 years ago. He was SUPER lucky with early diagnosis and great doctors. His primary care physician ran a PSA test very early on as part of his annual physical care. Afterwards my mom pushed and followed him through everything. He decided to get his prostate removed and got excellent treatment at the fox chase center in Philadelphia. My mom is a scientist and her detailed scientific mind was always with my Dad. She would go with him to appointments to see options, take notes, tell the whole family the progress, deep dive into the scientific studies the doctors mentioned to help my dad figure out what would be best for him, and keep him on task to the next appointment, decision, procedure… My dad can sometimes be weary to take care of himself but my mom kept at him and supported him. 10+ years later, we are so lucky to have him still here and very grateful to the doctors that pushed him to have the early tests and followup. I know not everyone is so lucky.
