About Melanie Ranen
Melanie joined PCF in May 2022 to collaborate across all stakeholders on generating philanthropic support that will advance PCF’s mission. She previously held the role of Senior Director of Development at the Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). In this position, she partnered with physician scientists and university leadership to advance philanthropic support for cancer research, training, clinical care, and capital projects.
Prior to UCSF, Melanie held leadership roles in development at New York University and University of the Pacific where she focused on fundraising for undergraduate education, faculty research, and campus expansion.
Melanie brings with her over 15 years of experience in principal and major gifts, strategic planning, management, volunteer engagement, and donor relations.
Melanie is a native of New Jersey though currently based in San Francisco. She received her Master’s in Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her BA from Northwestern University.
