Director, Development & Sports Initiatives
The Director, Development & Sports Initiative supports the organization’s sports and lifestyle fundraising initiatives. The position is responsible for providing administrative, operational and clerical support for all ongoing and new initiatives in this area including but not limited to our annual Home Run Challenge campaign, campaigns with the NBA, and work with DIY community fundraisers.

Full-time / Exempt
Location: Santa Monica, CA with possibility for full-time remote
Travel: Heavy travel in June may be required

 
Key Duties of the Director will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide daily administrative support to the team working on sports and lifestyle fundraising initiatives
  • Coordinate logistical support of the Home Run Challenge (HRC) campaign
  • Coordinate game-day activities with the MLB clubs’ community relations departments for HRC
  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the fundraising activities around HRC, including but not limited to: data entry, report generation, managing ticket lists, ensuring delivery of promotional items to our constituency and our various partners in MLB, and being frontline support to the other HRC team members
  • Coordinate all NBA campaign activities and deliverables
  • Collaborate with Development and Communications Departments on all campaigns as needed
  • Produce campaign wrap-up reports and analysis
  • Join and participate in brainstorming sessions to improve campaigns and design new initiatives
  • Serve as point of contact for PCF constituents looking to DIY fundraise for PCF through lifestyle activities

 
Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two years’ experience in fundraising, donor relations, and/or customer service
  • Ability to travel extensively, especially in the month of June
  • Prefer individual with knowledge of sports, specifically baseball
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Flexible, takes initiative and self-motivated
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and detail orientation, as well as the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
