In memory of George R. Block, Sr.

Thank you for remembering George R Block Sr who finally decided the 6 year struggle against multiple cancers was over. He valiantly fought prostate, bone and liver cancer with cheerfulness, dignity and a great sense of humor.

While his illness limited his ability to be Tiger Woods in golf he settled for beating Rob, BJ and his son, George, Jr.! His second car was an open air convertible, his beloved golf cart called the “Blockmobile”. He was able to fulfill his greatest dream besides raising a family to live on the 13th tee box at our local golf community.

George was an army veteran of the Korean War having served his county from 1950 to 1953 and also saw duty under the United Nations in Germany. He was just as valiant a warrior against the cancers he fought as he was in service of his country.

His loving family will miss him and he will forever be a hero in our hearts and his granddogs and grandcats will miss his treats as well.

The family will be notified of your gift. If you prefer, donations may also be mailed to:
