James “Jim” Gus Pappanduros of Fresno, CA, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 9, 2015. Born January 14, 1930, in Chicago, IL, to Greek immigrant parents Gus and Sophia Pappanduros, he was the middle of three children. Jim dearly loved his older brother, John, and younger sister, Antigone.
In 1947, Jim graduated from Austin High School in Chicago. He proudly enlisted in the Army in 1951 during the Korean War. Jim went on to spend over thirty five years as a route salesman and proud Teamster for Hostess cakes. Jim married Margaret Montgomery on May 21st, 1960, in Chicago, IL. They moved their family to California in 1971, first to Napa then to Fresno in 1973, where they have lived ever since.
Jim loved his wife, family and friends. His greatest joy was the joy of those he loved. He will be remembered as a genuine, kind, generous, and loving man. He enjoyed being with people and made all feel at ease in his presence.
Jim leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Marge; his sister Antigone; four children: Ken (Debbie), John, Nick (Kara), and Tom; five grandchildren: Anna, Mark, Lily, Abby, and Emma; as well as many nieces and nephews.
