In memory of James Thomas King

James Thomas King peacefully passed away at home on February 9, 2015. Jim fought a 7-year battle with prostate cancer like a true Irishman and lived his life to the fullest until the very end. One of the many people he touched said, “Jim sure did have a zest for life, and he was an expert when it came to recreating and enjoying life ‘in the now.’ No one that I have ever met seemed to get as much bang for his buck in his shorter-than-it-should-have-been life.”

As an attorney, Jim was incredibly devoted to the consumer bankruptcy industry, was a strategic member of both the Central District Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys Association and the local chapter of the American Bankruptcy Inn of Court, and was heavily involved in pro bono work. As such, he earned the respect and admiration of the entire industry, from judges, trustees, the Chapter 11 bar, his employees, his clients, his adversaries, and the consumer bar, as well as his family, friends, and loved ones.

Jim is survived by his wife, Mari; children, Michele, Jason, Collette and Janine; his 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Brian and Alison; and 4 brothers and 1 sister, as well as an incredible extended family.

Just as Jim always gave back, his family wants to thank you for donating to the Prostate Cancer Foundation in his honor.
