In memory of Phil Theisen

Thank you for your donation in honor of our husband, father, and grandfather Phil. Phil was born March 27, 1949, in Loyal, WI. He attended the University of Wisconsin for undergraduate and graduate degrees in Engineering, and later Marquette University for a law degree. Phil believed in life-long learning. He used his degrees to promote wind energy in order to preserve the planet for future generations. Phil was also an avid traveler and RV enthusiast with a passion for the outdoors. He was a lifelong Badger fan and a very proud Packer owner.

Phil succumbed to prostate cancer December 30, 2015, after a courageous 11-year battle with the disease. Throughout difficult treatments and chemotherapy, Phil maintained a strong desire to spend quality time with his family and to find adventure in the world. Phil enjoyed traveling the country with his road companion, his wife of 36 years, Maria (née Senfleben). When he was back in Wisconsin, he loved nothing more than to have the whole family together at their home, preferably around a campfire in the backyard.

Phil will be incredibly missed by his children Joshua, Nathanael (Rima), Aaron (Mary), and Rachel, as well as his grandson Liam to whom Phil was the adored “Bapa.” Others left behind to carry on his memory include his mother Ethelyn (née Furman); siblings Mary, Cynthia (Art) Smith, John, Kathleen (Willy Schmidt), Marjorie (Bill) Blubaugh, and Clarice; many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnephews and grandnieces, and in-laws (and out-laws); and a multitude of dear friends. Phil is preceded in death by his father William.

We love you and will miss you!
