In memory of Richard A. Soviero

Thank you for your thoughts, prayers, memories and your donation in memory of Richard A. Soviero and for helping to further prostate cancer research in his name. He battled and fought advanced prostate cancer for close to a year.

Richard A. Soviero, beloved son of the late Nancy and Frank, loving husband of Dawn, caring father of Rich, Christine and Rob passed away on February 2, 2012. He was born May 6, 1945 in New York, NY. He grew up in Floral Park, NY and graduated from Sewanhaka High School in 1963 and Pace College in 1967. He met the love of his life, Dawn also from New York, in 1968 and they married in 1971. The Soviero family moved to Florida in 1980. Although he was a true “New Yorker,” he quickly became a Floridian. Often telling his family, still living in New York, that they were crazy because he loved Florida so much. For the past ten years he and his son Rich ran a painting contracting company in South Florida, which formed many lasting friendships. He is best known for remembering people, making everyone he came in contact with feel special, his contagious smile, unbelievable memory, famous phrases and knowledge of all sports. He lived a selfless life only worried about those around him, especially his family. He was one of the most magnetic people anyone could meet. The type of guy that once you met him, you knew this is a friend for life. He is also survived by and will be missed by his three grandsons, Nicky, Bryce and Dylan; his son-in-law Darren Frost; his daughter-in-law Julie Soviero; his father-in-law Jerry DeLapp, his sister-in-law Jean Ruppert and of course his many friends.
