In Memory of Rudolph D. Sapper

Rudy was born December 13, 1932, in Guatemala City, Guatemala, and passed away from prostate cancer on February 13, 2017 in Pagosa Springs, Colorado. He came to the United States at the age of 11 to attend school in Prairie Du Chien, WI, and studied printing at Carnegie Technical University in Pittsburgh, PA. Rudy became a naturalized US citizen in 1954. After serving in the US Army from 1953-1955 he returned to Carnegie Tech to complete his studies. Rudy’s Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity brothers remained lifelong friends. After college Rudy worked in Washington DC at McCalls Printing Company before moving to San Diego, CA, to become CFO of Sapper Construction Company. The Masters swim program and golf were activities he especially loved. In 2005, Rudy and his wife moved to Pagosa Springs to enjoy retirement in the beautiful mountains of southwest Colorado. He will be greatly missed by his many friends and family.
