Len Bellavia is “Cruisin’ For the Cure” Again

Back in January, we shared Len Bellavia’s story about his “new lease on life” after a mistaken diagnosis of advanced prostate cancer – what he called “the worst moment of my life.”  This experience inspired him to do something for others who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer.  You see, Len is a “get it done” kind of guy and what he did last year, he plans to do bigger this year. After treatment for his low-grade prostate cancer, he created the “Cruisin’ For a Cure” classic car show in upstate New York, which turned out to be a huge success.

Now, Len is back this Summer for his second annual “Cruisin’ For the Cure” classic car show at the Windham Mountain Resort in Windham, New York, about 25 miles Southwest of Albany. The event takes place this Sunday, June 24th from 10am – 4pm. Len’s goal this year is to surpass the huge success he had last year where over a 1,000 spectators came out to see the 224 classic cars that collectors showed off to the public. This year he’s expecting over 350 classic and exotic cars to raise money for cutting-edge prostate cancer research funding through the Prostate Cancer Foundation.

Dealerships will be showing off some very rare vehicles, including Alfa Romeo’s, Maserati’s, Porsches and more. And, through his connections in the auto industry, Len hopes to enlist the help of 60 – 70 dealerships across the country to donate to the fundraiser.  His target this year is to raise a total of $250,000, all of which will go to the Prostate Cancer Foundation to fund the most advanced cutting-edge prostate cancer research.

This year’s “Cruisin’ For the Cure” will include something for every member of the family, including games for the kids, a day spa and barbeque. Members of PCF’s board will be on hand to make a presentation to show how men can reduce their risk for prostate cancer.
