November 1995: The National Cancer Summit

PCF organizes the first-ever National Cancer Summit in Washington, where Mike outlines a 10-point plan to rethink the war on cancer.
Most of the ten points – listed below – have since been achieved by PCF, FasterCures and other organizations:
- Internationalize the war on cancer;
- Invest more;
- Recruit a world-class scientific team;
- Coordinate worldwide cancer resources;
- Accelerate technology transfers;
- Push the technological envelope;
- Create a “world library of organic chemicals”;
- Accelerate approval of new drugs;
- Get product to market faster;
- Mobilize patients and families.
