Andrea Miyahira, PhD
Vice President of Global Research & Innovation

Dr. Andrea Miyahira is a scientist and thought leader in prostate cancer research, with 20+ years of biomedical research experience and in depth-knowledge in oncology, cancer-immunology, immunology, clinical studies, science communication, and program administration.
Prior to joining PCF, Dr. Miyahira earned a PhD in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she elucidated mechanisms of immune responses to pathogenic infections and cancer. She completed postdoctoral fellowships at Stanford University and City of Hope, where she identified immune system abnormalities in patients with cancer and their associations with clinical outcomes.
During her tenure at PCF, she has overseen PCF’s research awards program, mentored talented early-career investigators, created innovative academic and industry collaborations, and convened PCF’s scientific conferences. Dr. Miyahira also serves as Editor of the Translational Science in Prostate Cancer Center of Excellence and Women in Science Center of Excellence for UroToday.
