Senior Manager, Content
As a Senior Content Manager, you will lead and manage all content initiatives for Prostate Cancer Patient Voices (PCPV) — a patient-centered website from the Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF). PCPV is dedicated to amplifying the real-life experiences of patients, caregivers, and clinicians to drive awareness, foster connection, and support prostate cancer education and advocacy. You will play a key role in shaping and expanding the reach of this initiative by collaborating closely with stakeholders across the healthcare and life sciences ecosystem, including pharmaceutical partners, medical professionals, patients, and creative contributors. This role requires strong project management skills, experience in marketing and pharmaceutical agency environments, and a deep commitment to human-centered storytelling.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Development
- Develop and maintain new content in alignment with grant funding and project goals
- Conduct an annual refresh of written website content informed by research and in collaboration with our clinician collaborators
- Ensure all content aligns with grant deliverables and brand voice
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Serve as primary liaison with our external web development team for all website content update requests
- Collaborate quarterly with our primary website pharma sponsor to align on content needs and strategic direction
- Join monthly strategy and planning calls with PCF’s marketing team for PCPV grant proposal development
Interview & Video Production Coordination
- Oversee the execution of all interviews with patients, caregivers, and clinicians
- Coordinate interview scheduling, locations, and film crew logistics
- Collaborate with an interviewer contractor to fulfill interview quotas
- Work with video editor to edit footage and create video montages based on transcripts
Design & Marketing
- Partner with our graphic designer bi-annually to produce updated assets for the website, social media, and email templates
- Design and draft monthly email campaigns, including pharma-sponsored communications
- Create compelling social media graphics to drive brand awareness and engagement
Analytics & Optimization
- Pull and analyze monthly website traffic and user engagement reports
- Use data insights to recommend strategies for increasing audience reach and engagement
Web Content Management
- Manage website content updates using a content management system (CMS); ensure timely publication and accuracy across all pages
- Coordinate with the external web development team to troubleshoot, QA, and implement site changes or enhancements
Travel Requirements
- Attend major annual conferences to meet with pharma partners and explore yearly grant opportunities. (around 20% of travel yearly)
- Travel quarterly to conduct patient, caregiver, and clinician interviews
- Participate in the annual UCSD Patient Summit (co-sponsored by UCSD and PCF) to conduct in-person interviews
Qualifications:
- 8+ years in content strategy, management, or direct marketing, preferably within marketing or pharmaceutical agencies
- Experience with email marketing and driving organic website growth
- Skilled in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects in regulated industries
- Knowledgeable in healthcare/pharma compliance and grant-based content development
- Strong storytelling, writing, and editing abilities for patient- and clinician-facing materials
- Collaborative experience with designers, editors, and production teams
- Proficient in content management systems, email tools, and analytics platforms
- Highly organized with excellent project management and deadline prioritization skills
- Strong interpersonal abilities and a collaborative approach
- Able and willing to travel quarterly for interviews and annual conferences
Salary range: $110K – $135K
Position type and expected work hours: Senior manager-level full-time, typically 8:00 am-5:00 pm, five days a week, but can expect to work on weekends and more than 40 hours a week infrequently. This role is in-office 4 to 5 days per week. Applicants must be local to Los Angeles or willing to relocate.
