The Predictive Value of Coexisting TMPRSS2-ERG Gene Fusion and PTEN Deletion in Prostate Cancer Patients with Biochemical Failure Status Post Salvage or Radical Radiation Therapy

About This Trial

  • This study is exploring whether specific genetic changes in tumor cells can help predict how well patients respond to standard hormone therapy.
  • It is designed for men with high-risk prostate cancer whose PSA levels have begun rising again after previous radiation treatment.
  • To qualify, participants must have aggressive cancer features—such as a high initial PSA or a high tumor grade—and be able to carry out normal daily activities.
  • Before taking part, patients should know that researchers will examine their cancer's genetic markers to see if this information can guide better, more personalized treatment options in the future.

More Information

  • The objective of the study is to evaluate the predictive value of TMPRSS2-ERG gene fusion and PTEN in patients with high risk prostate cancer treated with first line LHRH agonist after biochemical failure.
