PCF-VA Medical Education Program for Optimizing the Care of Veterans with Advanced Prostate Cancer
The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) invites VA facilities to apply to host a one-day medical education program on the management of advanced prostate cancer. PCF will select two faculty matched to each program’s focus and provide up to $50,000 for planning and execution.
Who Can Apply
VA healthcare professionals (HCPs) who care for Veterans with prostate cancer at any VA facility, such as a VA Medical Center or Community-Based Outpatient Clinic. Executive Directors of VA-affiliated nonprofit research and education corporations (NPCs) may also apply if they partner with a VA HCP who will plan and run the program.
Areas of Focus
- Strategies to improve the uptake of guideline-based management of advanced prostate cancer.
- Strategies to improve the uptake and use of germline and somatic testing.
- Pathways and multidisciplinary team approaches to optimize monitoring, management of adverse effects, and survivorship.
- Initiating guideline-concordant care at facilities without GU subspecialists.
- Participation in clinical trials.
- Any other educational needs related to the guideline-recommended management of patients with advanced prostate cancer.
Program Details
Programs should engage at least 25 learners from the same institution or healthcare region and be held by February 15, 2027. Funds go to the associated NPC or academic affiliate for planning, logistics, and regional participant travel; PCF covers faculty honoraria and travel separately. This is a non-CME program.

The Prostate Cancer Foundation (PCF) is pleased to invite applications for its 2026 PCF Leadership Academy. Led by experts in prostate cancer care, this unique mentoring program advances clinical knowledge, builds skills in leadership, collaboration, and communication, and provides ample opportunities to network with peers and leaders in the field. We cover travel and hotel costs, and you receive formal certification from PCF when you complete the program.
Dates and Location
Thursday through Saturday, December 3-5, in Santa Monica. Plan to arrive late morning December 3 if possible.
Eligibility
Open to U.S. physicians, including:
- Fellows and senior residents entering urology or medical oncology, whether in community or academic practice.
- Urologists and medical oncologists who care for patients with prostate cancer and wish to build clinical or leadership skills.
- Interest in community practice or community-academic partnerships is preferred but not required.

We are pleased to announce a special call for applications for a Visiting Professorship Program on Implementing Germline and Somatic Testing for Precision Medicine in Community-Based Prostate Cancer Care.
This program supports community-based urology and oncology practices who want to implement, expand, or enhance the use of germline and somatic testing for patients with prostate cancer when clinically recommended.
The application deadline is Wednesday, September 9, 2026, by 11:59 PM Eastern Time. Late applications will not be considered.
Program overview
Selected practices will:
- Partner with a Visiting Professor, a clinical expert matched to their learning needs and goals.
- Host a half-day onsite education program focused on germline and somatic testing and related workflows, with full support from PCF.
- Plan and implement a small project, with support from the Visiting Professor and PCF.
- Receive a grant of up to $50,000 to support project implementation.
