PCF-funded research reached two milestones this month: an ASTRO-PCF Young Investigator Award, and a PCF Challenge Award, and both are proof of what your support makes possible.
2026 ASTRO-PCF YOUNG INVESTIGATOR AWARD
Luca Valle, MD
UCLA and Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System
Dr. Valle received the 2026 ASTRO-PCF Young Investigator Award for developing a genomic classifier that helps predict how patients with oligometastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer respond to targeted radiotherapy. The tool also helps physicians better assess prognosis in high-risk localized disease, sharpening treatment decisions earlier in a patient’s care.
2025 PCF CHALLENGE AWARD
Saul Priceman, PhD
Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California
A former PCF Young Investigator, Dr. Saul Priceman today leads his own lab focused on developing cellular immunotherapies that are clinically translated for the treatment of patients with solid cancers. He received a 2025 PCF Challenge Award for a project building a novel T cell immunotherapy platform for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This approach could overcome limitations of current cellular therapies in advanced prostate cancer, and be extended to enable the treatment of other solid tumor cancers that no longer respond to treatment.
