Congratulations, Dr. Valle: 2026 ASTRO-PCF Young Investigator Award

PCF congratulates Luca Valle, MD, of UCLA and the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System, recipient of the 2026 ASTRO-PCF Young Investigator Award. The award is part of a broader $2.4 million round of grants announced by Speed of Light – The ASTRO Foundation, supporting 14 scientists advancing radiation medicine research. These grants are made possible through donor support and partnerships with leading cancer research organizations, including the American Cancer Society, the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, the LUNGevity Foundation, and PCF. Dr. Valle’s research validates a DNA-based genomic classifier to help predict how patients with oligometastatic, hormone-sensitive prostate cancer respond to metastasis-directed radiotherapy, and to better assess prognosis in high-risk localized disease, exactly the kind of early-career research PCF is proud to help fund.
