Prostate Cancer Awareness Month Kickoff Email

Every year, thousands of families hear the words “I have prostate cancer” for the first time. In 2026, an estimated 333,830 men in the United States will be diagnosed with the disease. Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men during their lifetime, and for Black men, that risk increases to 1 in 6.

This Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, we’re asking you to Check the Box for your health, for someone you love, and for your future.

One of the most powerful ways we can change the future of prostate cancer is by funding the research that leads to better ways to detect, treat, and ultimately cure the disease.

This week, we’re sharing a conversation with Dr. Himisha Beltran, a PCF Young Investigator whose research was accelerated by PCF funding provided early in her career. In the video below, she shares how that support helped advance her research.

Her story is a powerful example of what it means to Check the Box for the Future by supporting the scientists and research that are changing what’s possible for men and their families.

Check the Box for Yourself. Talk to your doctor about your prostate cancer risk and getting screened with a simple PSA blood test. Early detection saves lives.

Check the Box for Someone You Love. Encourage the men in your life to talk to their doctor and get screened.

Check the Box for the Future. Help fund the lifesaving research that brings us closer to a cure.
