About Harry L

My caregiver is my new wife of 4 years. After I was diagnosed in 2013, I went on active surveillance. Then in 2018 after losing my hearing in my left ear, I went to physical therapy for dizziness. So while I was off work, I had my second biopsy done in June of 2018 because they would not renew my prescription for Finasteride. I had new cancer of Gleason 7 3+4 in two new areas. After exhausting searches, my wife and I decided on a plan: Hormone treatment, external beam radiation and seed implants. The final treatment of implants concluded on March 29, 2019. On April 29, she had to take me to the emergency room at 2:30am with 106 degree fever. I had crashed and I didn’t remember a thing from Sunday evening until I woke up in ICU on Tuesday April 30. I had a bladder infection and infection of the blood which took them until Friday to determine it was actinomyces.
I was discharged the following Saturday. I had to have a daily infusion of antibiotics for a month and a foley catheter until August 5 2019 when I had a TURP surgery. After that surgery, I got Frozen Shoulder on my right and I had a torn rotator cuff.
So with all of this, my wife has been a trooper and I know she was scared to death after my fever, not knowing if I was going to live or die.
