Grilled Brussels Sprouts

Grilled Brussels Sprouts

If you have a vegetable-grilling tray with small openings, use it for this recipe. Try the grilling sauce on tofu, fish, chicken or any vegetable.

Ingredients: 2 cups Brussels sprouts (washed, trimmed and cut in half lengthwise)

Grilling Sauce Ingredients

1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup low-sodium tamari soy sauce
1 tbsp honey
1/2 inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and grated or minced
2 tsp crushed fresh garlic (about 4 cloves)

    1. In a pot of boiling water blanch Brussels sprouts for 3 minutes. Strain water in a colander and rinse Brussels sprouts with cold water.
    2. Place all ingredients for grilling sauce in a food processor and process until smooth.
    3. Coat Brussels sprouts with sauce. (You can put sprouts in a mixing bowl, pour sauce overall and mix with a spoon or spatula.) Preheat barbeque.
    4. Arrange Brussels sprouts flat-side down over medium flame on barbecue grill. Grill 2 minutes. Turn sprouts and grill 2 minutes longer. Serve.
