In memory of William Arthur Curtin

William A. Curtin, 84, of Sarasota, FL and Pocasset, MA, formerly of Concord, MA, died November 9, 2014 after a brief illness.

Born in 1930 and raised in Lawrence, MA, Bill received a bachelor’s degree in physics at Boston College and a master’s degree in electrical engineering at MIT. He worked for Raytheon Company for 25 years, where he was part of the original team that designed the Patriot Missile System.

Bill’s true passion was woodworking. He had a full wood shop in his basement where he built furniture and cabinetry. He loved baseball and was an avid Red Sox fan, and rarely missed watching a game.

Bill was a devoted and loving husband and father and took great joy in being with his family. He leaves Joan, his beloved wife of 57 years, his four children, Carol of Woburn, MA, Bill Jr. and his wife Beth of Lausanne, Switzerland, Dan of Townsend, MA, and Patricia and her husband Steve Schmaltz of Westford, MA. He is also survived by his five grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Camilla, Cammie, and Peter Curtin, and Charlotte and Kathryn Schmaltz, and many nieces and nephews.
