The 27th Annual PCF Scientific Retreat will be a virtual event in October 2020. As an organization, our first priority in making this decision is the safety and well-being of our attendees. This decision to hold a virtual conference is based on highly valued public health information informing us that October 2020 is still too soon to convene a face-to-face conference with confidence in safety for all.

We intend that this virtual Scientific Retreat will remain an important time point for our scientific community for sharing diverse basic, translational and clinical science that leads our field forward. We intend to create an experience that is both intellectually significant and as interactive as possible.

There is no limitation on number of attendees. If you or your colleague(s) would like to register and attend, they can send an email to [email protected] to receive an invitation to register. There are no fees associated with registration.

The timeline for the scientific sessions and retreat is as follows:

PCF Women in Science Forum: Tuesday, October 20, 2020, from 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM U.S. PDT.

  • This is a half-day networking event for women in science in conjunction with the 27th Annual PCF Scientific Retreat. This fifth annual event is open to all individuals attending the PCF Scientific Retreat.
  • Included in this year’s Women in Science Forum program is a “Collaborative Research Team Building” Networking Event held at the close of the Forum on Tuesday October 20th, from 11:20 AM to 12:30 PM U.S. PDT (*times approximate). This networking event will be an opportunity for attendees to lead or join a new prostate cancer research team with the goal of applying for a team science award/program grant such as a PCF Challenge Award, in the next 1-2 years. RSVP by September 29th is required for participation in the “Collaborative Research Team Building” Networking Event. Additional information on how to propose or join a team will be sent to those who RSVP.

PCF Young Investigator Forum: Wednesday, October 21, 2020, from 7:00 AM to 12:50 PM U.S. PDT.

  • This special Forum will address topics of relevance to early career investigators. Attendance to the talks and panels is open to anyone who is interested.
  • Attendance to the PCF YI Forum “Speed Networking” event (October 21st, from 11:30 AM to 12:50 PM U.S. PDT, *times approximate) will be limited to 2014-2020 PCF Young Investigators Awardees and Special Guests.  RSVP is required for the “Speed Networking” event at the time of registration.

27th Annual PCF Scientific Retreat:
Thursday, October 22, 2020, from 7:00 AM to 2:10 PM U.S. PDT,

Friday, October 23, 2020, from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM U.S. PDT.

Meeting times are approximate and subject to change. The full program and agenda will be available in September, 2020.

Nominations now being accepted for the PCF Women in Science “Above and Beyond” Award.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges, both professionally and personally. The PCF Women in Science Forum Planning Committee is seeking nominations for a woman in the prostate cancer field that has gone “Above and Beyond” during the pandemic, to receive a special award.  If you would like to nominate a colleague for this special award, please email the name of the nominee and 1-2 sentences on how she has contributed, to ([email protected]) by September 8, 2020.

Virtual Poster Session

A Virtual Poster Session will be held during the event. Approximately 200 abstracts will be selected for the Virtual Poster Session. The deadline to submit an abstract to be considered for a poster presentation is September 8, 2020.
