About Dad

My father was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Valentine’s Day 2013 at the age of 54 years old. We were told that my father had a very aggressive type of cancer but we caught it early. He then had surgery to remove his prostate followed my many complications. Around the same time the following year we were told that the cancer had spread to his bladder where he then started radiation therapy. My father travels for a living and received treatment alone and away from home. Almost a year later my father got a cat scan to follow up on hernias he had. The cat scan had end up showing the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes. He started chemotherapy 2 months later. My father never took a day off work and continued to travel and even play baseball during treatment. He was very exhausted but wanted to fully live out the days he had. Six weeks after he finished chemo we were told that his cancer is incurable that all we could do now is manage it. He is currently on medications to slow the growth of the cancer. He is very tired but he has the same determined, spunk, and spirit he has had my entire life.
