About Frances G.

Stage 3 cancer, age 49, my Mom in her 70s went to every Drs appointment with me, usually she drove, I was too ill, she sat through every surgery. She was my chemo buddy. I don’t know how many times I wanted to give up and she cheered me on. Between chemo and radiation knowing the beach is my favorite place to be she made sure I got there, she walked me to the edge of the water where we held each other and cried tears of joy. I could go on and on, she was there when I finished my last radiation and she continues to be there for me, she’s my rock and at her age and at my age, she’s still taking care of her baby girl, me. I’d love nothing more than to give her a gift, she says me beating cancer is enough. I’d love to give her the month of August enjoying time off in ocean city NJ. I’d love to just give her what she’s given me and I know I can never give her that. She is just as much a fighter as I am and I know I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her. My Mother, my caregiver, my cancer buddy, my true hero.
