About Lou W.

It will be two years.March 1st/2017 my husband was diagnosed with stage four prostate cancer. Then by that summer was diagnosed with castrate resistant prostate cancer with mets to bones and lymph nodes. In a heartbeat our life changed. He has gone through chemo, radiation, radium223, and ADT. After all that, it just keeps spreading and PSA keeps increasing. We try to make sure that we keep a positive attitude. He has good and bad days. We work around the bad and plan to do things when it is good. Sometimes visiting with the kids, grandkids and now great grandkids! We feel blessed to have such family and friends support! We will fight this monster called cancer. My husband never complains, never feels sorry for himself and always ready to help others. He is my hero, when doctors said that only trials or experimental drugs can be offered as nothing has helped him, he said that someone has to do these studies and if it doesn’t help him, then maybe it will help someone else! I will stand by him and fight the fight! We took vows for better or worse, in sickness or health, and I intend to be by his side through this journey. We will be married twenty five years in August and I am planning to celebrate those years renewing our vows with friends and family. He is my everything and has given me a life full of love and happiness. I will never give up on him!
